Description
FaySummer seeks applicants for English Immersion Teachers to work during its 4-week summer camp program for children from around the world, ages 10 to 15 years. FaySummer has been running camp programs for more than 20 years and is set on a beautiful; 66-acre campus. The English Immersion Program is internationally renowned and forms a key part of the overall Fay summer program.
 
The English Immersion teacher will implement and adapt the provided curriculum for the students enrolled in English Immersion. This person reports to the director of the English Immersion program. Flexibility, professionalism, respect for cultural differences, and creative problem solving are all a must.

Campers will be residential but English lessons will take place in mornings, Monday through Friday. The normal work schedule is 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., including lunch with the students. There will be a welcome reception on Sunday, July 9 as students arrive on campus from around the world.
 
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and previous experience working with children ages 10 to 15 in a camp or school setting is preferred. Candidates are expected to be professional, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and to have a high level of comfort giving direction when required.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer agreed upon curriculum
  • Write scheduled progress reports for each student in English Immersion
  • Communicate regularly with the director of the English immersion programs
  • Maintain a positive attitude with students and colleagues
