Academic Spotlight Camps (Grades 7-9)

FaySummer's Academic Spotlight Camps are for students entering grades 7-9 who are interested in a full-day academic camp. As fully immersive programs, the camps are designed to build upon existing skills and interests, all in a fun and supportive setting.

FaySummer Spotlight Camps are led by experienced teachers and instructors with a demonstrated expertise in their program area. All camps take place on Fay's 66-acre campus, which includes state-of-the-art academic facilities, air-conditioned classrooms, a theater, a new Center for Creativity and Design, and more.

All FaySummer Spotlight Camps must have a minimum enrollment to run. If a program has low enrollment, campers will be able to transfer to another Spotlight Camp or another FaySummer program.

  • Musical Theater Camp (June 24-28)

    Get ready to put on a performance of a lifetime during this weeklong intensive musical theater program. During this camp, campers will sing, act, and dance their way through classical and contemporary musical theater scenes and songs. Campers will work on performing musical theater pieces and will also create a set, costumes, and props for a final showcase for families to view. This program is designed for both new and seasoned musical theater enthusiasts.
  • Speech & Debate Camp (July 1-5)

    Ignite your speaking talents and sharpen your debate skills! Dive into the world of speech events, exploring public address sessions where you'll create compelling speeches on diverse topics and interpretive events that let you showcase your acting and theater prowess. Delve into the art of crafting persuasive speeches and engaging in debates on intriguing subjects, honing your research, analysis, and communication skills. No prior experience is needed – just come with your curiosity and enthusiasm.
    Please note that camp is closed on July 4.
  • Coding & App Developer Camp (July 8-12)

    Learn the skills of a coder and the mindset of an entrepreneur through building and releasing an actual iPhone app! Campers will develop 21st-century tech skills while learning how to make their own apps and games, including logical thinking, coding (Javascript and React), and design.
  • TechCamp: Artificial Intelligence (July 15-19)

    Learn how to use online AI tools to generate essays, stories, music, TV shows, and even games. Campers will cultivate their own creativity while creating AI symphonies, working with partners and AI to create animated books, and generating AI animations. Campers will also gain access to a suite of tools that can help with projects in the future, build familiarity with the new AI world we are moving into, and even understand when and when not to use this powerful new tool.
  • Entrepreneurship Camp (July 22-26)

    Have you ever wanted to start your own business or website? In this class for budding entrepreneurs, that’s exactly what you’ll do! You’ll work with fellow campers to come up with a simple company idea, taking it as far as it will go before the program ends. You’ll create a business plan, enlist friends and family, and set up everything you need to be a junior entrepreneur: a first email address, a basic app or website, and a presentation. Ultimately, you’ll share your idea with friends and family, work hard to get a first customer, and present all your progress to the whole group.
  • Video Game Design (July 29 - August 2)

    Campers will dive into game development while learning about the fundamentals of game design and HTML programming. They’ll use cutting-edge AI technology for storytelling and image creation, infusing unlimited options into game creation. Campers will also hone their writing skills by coding trivia challenges and immersive choose-your-own-adventure games. At the end of the week, campers will collaborate on a group project where they will practice the techniques they learned to craft a game that can be shared with friends and family.
  • Digital Photography (August 5-9)

    During this camp, campers will explore campus and take pictures as they learn the basics of digital photography. They’ll learn about composition, lighting, and other core strategies that allow professionals to take incredible photos. Along the way, they’ll have an “editing day,” go on nature tours, and even create professional portfolios.
  • Real World Graphic Design (August 12-16)

    Are you Interested in drawing, art, or design? In this camp, you will learn how to develop your creative passions by working on design projects for local nonprofits and small businesses. You will learn how to make professional posters, art, ads, and online posts that will be used in the real world by the Special Olympics and Goodwill.

$575/One-Week Session

There is no camp on July 4th and rates will automatically be discounted during that week to $460.
