Join us for a week of fishing this summer as we partner with New England Fishing Academy! New England Fishing Academy provides young people with the opportunity to gain a greater love and appreciation for the outdoors through a unique and hands on fishing experience. Each day, campers will visit a different art museum or gallery in the local area, engaging with curated collections that span diverse cultures, media, and historical eras. Through guided tours, focused observation exercises, and group discussions, campers will analyze works of art using the language and methodologies of art history.


Camp Leaders: Emily Gifford and Christopher Kimball

David joined the Fay community in 2025 as a teacher in the Center for Creativity & Design, where he supports student learning through computational media and individualized projects. Whether he is helping a student debug code or navigate a backcountry trail, David’s approach is rooted in the "arc of inquiry"—the idea that the best learning happens when we explore the unknown.

Prior to Fay, David taught in public and private schools around Boston and completed several residencies at the International School of Billund, Denmark. He has also contributed to makerspace research with Tufts University and a project exploring the pedagogy of play with Harvard’s Project Zero, both in concert with the LEGO Foundation. More recently, David has worked with the Logo Foundation to explore new applications rooted in the tradition of creative computing languages.

This will be Katie's fourth summer leading our Voyager Camp. During the academic year, she is a third grade teacher at Fay. Katie joined the Fay community is 2016 and has a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. In addition to teaching, Katie enjoys running, baking, and spending time with her daughters, Nell and Evie, and her husband, Joe, who teaches in Fay's Upper School.

Joe joined the Fay community in 2012 after teaching at Trinity Pawling School. Joe has taught seventh, eighth, and ninth graders topics from pre-algebra to geometry. Beyond his teaching responsibilities at Fay, Joe works as Director of Student Life and Ninth Grade Class Dean. In addition, he coaches golf and boys varsity ice hockey. Outside Fay, Joe enjoys playing golf and being active outdoors.

At Fay, Christina teaches math in the Upper School, coaches tennis, coordinates the Service Learning Program, and serves as a dorm parent. Prior to Fay for taught at Nashoba Brooks School, where she was a middle school math teacher, advisor, and the coordinator of the Youth in Philanthropy program. Outside of the classroom, Christina worked professionally as the grants manager at Cummings Properties/Cummings Foundation, overseeing the distribution and implementation of more than $25 million in local grants annually. She also worked in marketing and development in the nonprofit sector with a focus on educational equity. 

Emily joined the Fay School community in 2010. Since then, she has taught Latin, Ancient World Cultures, Chinese, and Mathematics. Beyond the classroom, she has served as Class Dean, Director of FaySummer’s English Language Program, and lead faculty for initiatives including Adventures Abroad, Community Connections, and Students of Color. With a passion for connecting the ancient and modern worlds, Emily strives to inspire a love of languages and history in her students, encouraging them to use these disciplines as tools for understanding contemporary society. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring museums, studying art history and languages, hiking, practicing piano, and printmaking.

Christopher Kimball has been an Upper and Lower School art teacher at Fay since 2006 and has been the Arts Department Chair since 2020. He teaches a wide range of studio classes, including introductory courses, ceramics, printmaking, painting, and sculpture. One of Christopher's favorite parts of teaching at Fay is the ability to work alongside such enthusiastic and dedicated young artists and help his students explore their connections to the art-making world. Christopher believes in the value of spending time each day creating something original, an attitude he tries to instill in his students. As an art teacher, Christopher finds great joy in continuing his work as a practicing artist. Curious by nature, Christopher is fascinated by the process of creating something both beautiful and functional, and can trace a line of his own art-making through multi-step media, such as ceramics, printmaking, and woodworking. The problem-solving required to transform raw materials into something aesthetically pleasing is what gives him excitement and enthusiasm, which he shares with his students.
